I’m sure every home has it’s what I call ‘bits’ drawer ; a place for elastic bands ( they might come in useful !) and scraps of paper and fuses and blobs of blu tack and pencils and drawing pins and stamps receipts and paper clips and well, you name it . 

This would make a great bits drawer .... it’s a lovely vintage desk top filing box , wood framed and with the original dark red paper covering. The little brass handles have name plates too so you can even label the stuff you intend to file away .
