Two beautifully soft brushes.
Made by Hunter Penrose, known for their antique wooden cameras and printing equipment, they are so wonderfully soft (probably rabbit hair ) and I particularly love the fact that they’ve been staple mended. That’s always a good sign in my book, someone has valued something to the extent that they’ve bothered to repair it. 
They were probably used to gently brush photographic plates or possibly to apply gold leaf but they’re soft enough for other uses.
Both are stamped No 4 and ‘Made in England, Hunter Penrose’.
