Every antique kitchen should have one !

A little bit of local history here ….. a 1928 Denby Dale pie plate with a fabulous steaming pie to the middle and some great typography to the border. A few chips to the edge but perfectly serviceable/ displayable.

The local pie hall is still going strong and according to their website the contents of the 1928 pie were :
“4 bullocks ( 600 lb of beef ) - 15 cwt potatoes , topped by a crust made from 80 stone of flour - 2 cwt lard and 2 stone of baking powder.
This all added up to 100 cubic feet of pie which was sufficient for 20,000 people to have nearly ¼ lb each”
