When I first saw this book I was drawn in by its fabulous dust jacket but when I randomly opened it at page 139 and read ‘painting ironwork in a Bacon Factory’ , I just had to have it !
It’s totally of its time ….published in 1954 but also completely useful and relevant now, especially given the interest and resurgence in ‘old’ techniques. It really is a font of information when it comes to all things painting and decorating, from the mundane ‘removing heat marks from a polished table ‘ to advice on repainting silk ( Sunday school ) banners, paper hanging over distemper and spraying lime wash. It’s fascinating !!
Good condition, small tears to the lovely dust jacket, hard boards and inner pages are all very good .
(Perfect for anyone renovating a period property ! )
