I absolutely love this little vintage game ! So often ephemera is damaged but luckily this has survived and is in full working order ! 
It works with friction, simply rub your fingers quickly and lightly over the lid and the figures start to dance ! I’ve tried to video it in action although it was a little difficult one handed !
