Written by Maria Eliza Rundell (1745-1828) in 1805, this volume was published in 1852.
This tiny book has certainly had a life, the front board is only just attached but all the pages are present and are in good order for a cookery book of 170 years !
With beautiful diagrams of cuts of meat and some great recipes , including an ‘excellent imitation of pickled Sturgeon’ and ‘mutton cutlets in the Portuguese way’ to name but two !
A fabulous gift for any keen cook or social historian!
