A fabulous slice of social history, hand written recipes in the wonderfully loopy curlicues of Dorothy Lane . Many are from her friend  ‘Ada’ and one ( Genoa Cake ) has a big cross through it , perhaps tried and tested and proclaimed ‘no good’. There are also lots of loose scraps of paper with handwritten recipes probably written and given freely by friends and relatives . I love it ! .
